Nathan said nothing more as his thoughts were in disarray. He bowed his head and silently resumed eating.
The following morning, when Lucinda arrived at Angle Intl, Zakai was already waiting for her in her office.
Immediately she entered, he promptly got to his feet and asked, “Miss Simmons, I’m sorry for the whole misunderstanding with Mr. Payne last night. Did you both end up having an argument?”
“We’re all good,” Lucinda replied, flashing a smile as she settled into her chair.
“How’s your face doing?” she inquired.
Zakai Lightly touched his face and shrugged it off.

He realized that he acted on impulse when he hit you. He actually wants to invite you to dinner as an apology. How about the three of us have a meal together after work tonight?”
“Okay.” Zakai agreed with no hesitation.
“To be honest, I owe you an apology too. Mr. Payne was right last night. Since I’m here in Cadiered, I should adapt to the local customs. It was kind of inappropriate to greet you with Eurfrica etiquette.”

Lucinda didn’t want to stay on this topic.
“In as much as you’re not upset with him. The contract is being printed in the legal department right now. Mr. Myers, why don’t you go to the lounge and grab something to eat in the meantime?”
Zakai politely stood up and replied, “Sure, I won’t bother you then.”
Both of them exchanged friendly smiles.
Lucinda powered on her computer and got down to work when her phone began to ring.
It was her father, Atticus.
She quickly answered the call.
“Lucinda, how have you been lately? Still dealing with morning sickness?”
As she typed away on her keyboard, she casually responded, “I’m doing fine. I still have occasional morning sickness, but don’t worry, Dad, I’m in good health.”
“That’s good to hear.” After a brief pause, Atticus asked uncertainly, “Are you free this weekend?”
Lucinda glanced at the time on her laptop and let out a chuckle.
“Dad, it’s only Monday. I can’t predict if I’ll be free this weekend.
I’m not blessed with clairvoyance.”
